Slow Motion is an international festival of Cinema and Food promoted by the Slow Food movement.
The second edition of this film festival devoted entirely to films about food returns to the Al Whittle Theatre, in Wolfville Nova Scotia, Canada. A youth film competition and a Youth Day exploring healthy eating and cinema in partnership with the Atlantic Film Festival comprise a youth program.
Farm market events, special dinners celebrating local food and wine will be held in addition to the planned twenty screenings of new films and beloved retrospectives over four days. Prizes will be awarded for new films in four categories and will be adjudicated by Food Inc director Robert Kenner and actor Jason Priestley.
Mission
The mission of Slow Motion is to celebrate food on film, bring awareness of the impact of food, food culture and current food systems on our lives and our communities and to promote the Slow Food ethos of Good, Clean, Fair food globally.
